 | The kit is a 100% bolt on with the exception of 6 drilled holes 2 in the tailgate and 4 | |
| below the tailgate to mount the hinges. The kit installs with minimal shop tools, no welding or fabrication required for installation. |
| This kit will hold over 400 lbs, see picture above. This is done by using the best | |
| hinges in the industry Kentrol stainless steel hinges. The bottom portion of the tailgate is covered with 1/8" thick steel plate to distribute the load evenly and on the driver side hinge there is a 4.5"x4"x1/4" thick square backing plate to tie in both inner layers of the tailgate giving this kit incredible strength. |
| The 16 gauge steel Jeep logo and JK grill image is bolted over top of 16 gauge | |
| 6061 aluminum for a unique look. These two plates are spaced out on the bottom to allow air flow while replacing the factory air vent on your tailgate. |
| All brackets are laser cut out of 16 gauge, 1/8" and 3/16' steel and formed on a | |
| press break. All bolts are stainless steel to eliminate any potential rust. |
| The kit uses your existing tailgate latch mechanism so your tailgate will remain | |
| lockable and rattle free. |
| In the kit there are two passenger side upper right hinge covers one flat plate and | |
| one made out of 3/16" steel that is designed to hold a CB antenna. |
| The kit is compatible with your existing hard top or soft top. |
| Your spare tire will need to be attached with an after market swing out tire carrier. | |
| This kit is compatible with either a bumper mounted tire carrier or a tub mounted tire carrier. |
| A fold down tail gate has many ideal uses, dinning room table, work bench, | |
| changing table, beer holder, cutting board, and increased room for 3rd row seating. |

| This toggle latch and related brackets are an optional accessory that can be ordered | |
| with the JK tailgate kit. While not necessary for installation it does provide additional support to your tailgate. |
