50" Press Brake DIY Builder Kit With Adjustable Back Stop

Press brake kit comes unassembled, you do the final assembly and welding.

You asked for it... & here it is.

Constructed out of high strength 3/8" steel with a 1.0" x 4.0" thick top die and 3.0" wide bottom die.

This 50" press brake kit will bend steel up to 49" wide and is designed to fit in hydraulic presses that are at least 52" wide between the vertical beams, however it can easily be cut down or modified to accommodate smaller presses.

Note: The max bending width and thicknesses are determined upon your hydraulic press and thus actual numbers are dependent upon your press. But with ample tonnage and proper support, this brake will bend up to 1/4" of A-36 steel full width. We recommend 60 tons; (3) 20 ton jacks spaced evenly works great.

Tools required for assembly, welder, grinder, level, small square.

Note: The springs provided with the kit are not intended to fully lift the top die. They are just to assist with assembly. We recommend adding extension spring from the top of your press frame to assist in lifting the top assembly.

More than expected

Bought this a while ago. Built a steel and H-beam frame. Put two 50 ton porta power cylinders. Used it to brake 3/8 a36 plate that was 14" wide. Did that about ten times

Kit was easy to assemble, works great, I took my time welding the lower V channel about 1.5" at a time and it still warped. Was wanting the finger break version but price difference was too much for the few times I would need it. This one works great and will do what I need. I added 2x harbor freight air over hydraulic 20 ton Jack's. Kit came with 1 centering ring that was too small so I had to make my own. Overall great product!!

The brake went together exactly as instructions said it should. No modifications were needed to any parts. It is a high quality kit. I Decided to use (2) 50 ton hydraulic rams instead of bottle jacks.

This is my second DIY brake from SWAG (first was 19" finger brake). I needed more width and my 100 ton press could fit the 50" perfectly. The package arrived damaged and a few pieces missing. A quick call to the number on the postcard included put me in touch with Troy, who without hesitation, shipped off the the spring and dowels that were missing. During the conversation, he recommended I stiffen the upper die If I wanted to do full width 1/4" plate. I added a 3/6" tapered piece to the die and am sure it will perform. I bent up some wide 3/16" plate with ease!!
